Welcome to Eden Park West, a collaborative prairie restoration project in the heart of Lincoln, Nebraska. Neighbor and project manager Peter Stegen would say it all began in 2018 as a phone call to parks and recreation about mowing less. After the city’s approval of his management plan the restoration could officially begin.

Restoring native ecosystems in urban spaces restores many things; human connection with the past, physical and mental health, and precious ecosystems for the diverse animals and insects that call Nebraska home. It is a vital practice in addressing the adverse impacts of climate change.

We want to acknowledge that Eden Park West is located on the past, present, and future homelands of the Pawnee, Oto-Missouria, Omaha, and Kansa peoples.
